Most sweet Jesus Christ, I wish to spend this hour with you, to comfort you, and to provide some recompense from the love in my wretched heart for the pain you endured in Gethsemane. You were abandoned during that one lonely hour, and the very beings you made to adore you showed no affection.

Jesus is said to have promised several blessings to His followers who demonstrate devotion to His sacred heart.
- He will bestow upon them all the graces required for their station in life.
- He will bring harmony to their households.

- He shall be their refuge in both life and mortality.
- He will generously bless all of their endeavors.

How To Know God’s Sacred Heart
If people everywhere could only realize how much God loves them, so many issues would disappear. After all, it is love that conceals all wrongdoing. Learning that the eternal God loves us teaches us that we do not need to compare ourselves to anyone else or seek validation from their approval.
Devotion to the Sacred Heart helps us strike a good balance between self-awareness and self-humbling acceptance of our faults. Both ignoring our misdeeds and pretending they don’t exist are extremes that lead to difficulties, as does the other extreme of focusing solely on our unworthiness, which is a sort of vanity and disguised pride. When we take the time to pray, we are able to feel God’s presence and the depth of his true love for us.
