Men today have unchaste thinking and sexual lust when they look at a very good-looking woman. Since there is a focus on sex, a girl has to be sleek, attractive, and seductive in order to be liked and famous. Girls are perceived as objects meant to pique men’s interests. And regrettably, this mistreatment of young Christian girls occurs both from inside and outside the church on a regular basis.

On the other hand, it’s also true that being a God-fearing mother is tough. The role of motherhood is being challenged and belittled today. It is misleading that a mother enjoys a simple, God-centered life while comfortable and undisturbed in her house. Truly, it is hard to be one of the Christian women who fear God today, regardless of whether a woman is single or married.

What Does It Mean To Be A God-Fearing Woman?

In Proverbs 31:29–30, the Bible describes such a unique and priceless woman[1], “Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favor is deceitful, and beauty is meaningless. Yet, a lady who fears the LORD will be honored,” it declares.

We find attributes of the God-fearing woman in Proverbs 31. We learn that her husband has complete faith in her, as she works tirelessly for her family from day to night, that she takes care of her own needs as well as those of her family. She is a strong, honorable lady, and that her daughters and sons consider her blessed and wonderful.

Every God-fearing woman is deserving of praise, which refers to the church’s greatest love and genuine admiration. This sums up everything. She is marvelous because God cherishes her. She recognizes God, and God recognizes her. God likes believing mothers, wives, and daughters in His congregation because they belong to Him as well as the marvelous, mighty, and astounding work He does through and for them. This is all due to His grace.

What Does The Bible Say About A God-Fearing Woman?

In certain situations, we may feel tempted to go back to our previous way of life, however as the Bible points out, that way is empty. The better way is through purity and being in awe of our All-Powerful God. Over the past decades, many women have complained that they are just “too busy” to enjoy their quiet hours.

It goes a little bit further than that, in a society where fear is discouraged, maybe we ought to fear the Lord a little more. We hear the phrase “No Fear” so frequently that maybe, we require someone to stop and repeat it to us. Indeed, we must possess proper respect for God.

As Deuteronomy 5:29 exclaimed, “Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever!” Additionally, Proverbs 1:7 tells us that knowledge and enlightenment begin with the fear of the Lord; fools reject learning and wisdom.

Characteristics Of A God-Fearing Woman

We observe that a God-fearing woman opens her lips with wisdom. The principle of kindness is also evident in her language. She can be recognized based on her voice. Her conversations with her kids are healthy, sensible, and enlightening in God’s Word. We hear her speak the law of humility as she begins to speak.

On top of that, the woman who fears God prays nonstop. The woman who fears God must talk to him all the time. Having a conversation strengthens bonds. We shall constantly hear God’s voice if we converse with Him constantly. The Bible compels us to pray continuously. A woman who fears God understands the significance of prayer.

Furthermore, a God-fearing woman obeys. The life of Mary, Jesus’ mother, exemplifies the strength of a woman who fears God. The God-fearing woman doesn’t at all challenge the will of God, she quietly follows even when this obedience requires significant self-sacrifice. When Mary was informed that the Spirit of God would surround her and she would bear Christ, she only responded, “I am the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.”

What Happens When A Woman Is Not God-Fearing?

There is no sum of money that could ever be exchanged for a woman who fears God. Only by pondering what occurs if a man’s spouse is not God-fearing can one, in a social sense, estimate the value of this woman… The house is eventually destroyed when the wife is not God-fearing. The attacks of Satan, who consume the children, are directed against the young people. There will be turmoil and uncertainty.

God did, however, grant women second chances. The God described in the Bible is one who is perfectly balanced between being “in heaven,” and “Our Father,” never scowling or being overly indulgent. Understanding how Psalm 111:10, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge” works will help us find that equilibrium. The ESV employs the word “fear.” We can look to the Chapters of Hebrews for that.

Due to Jesus, we do not approach the mighty, thunderous Mount Sinai with fear; rather, we approach the magnificent, approachable Mount Zion with expectation (Hebrews 12:18–24). Christians are urged to give this God “acceptable worship, with respect and amazement, for our Lord is a devouring fire” as a way of showing our respect for him (Hebrews 12:28–29). True fear of the Almighty is defined as divine respect and awe rather than abject dread.

Whenever we fear the Father properly, we don’t do so in a frightened manner. We are given assurance that we can face God’s throne with peace thanks to Jesus Christ, our Mediator. We don’t tremble as much as devils do because they legitimately fear God’s wrath. Instead, we fear like those who recognize that God’s wrath against us has been fulfilled at the cross.

The Power Of A God-Fearing Woman

She may merely be a homemaker who remains at home to take charge of the house, however, she is the driving force behind all of her family’s achievements. Never undervalue a woman’s strength; she has the potential to dramatically change a person and a society. For this reason, women must support and depend on the strength of God in every action they take.

Deborah, The Female Leader

In the Bible, Israel was judged by three men, Ehud, Othniel, and Shamgar, after they pleaded to God for help and then answered them when they were being severely persecuted by their enemies. In Judges 4:14–19, the fourth judge was a woman by the name of Deborah, and God employed her to preside over Israel for more than 40 years.

He let a female leader control him in a fight. Having a woman in command of males is completely unacceptable both then and now. Deborah was aware of this, yet she followed God and steered the populace in harmony for forty years. If the males won’t step up, the Lord will choose women to fulfill the task because He utilizes every committed soul for His cause.

The Submissive Women Of The Church

In addition, God never prohibited women from teaching the Bible; rather, He only forbade them from exercising leadership over males in His church and forbade them from debating the opinions of a male who serves as the church’s head.

According to I Timothy 2:11–14, “Let the woman study in silence and complete submission. Yet, I do not permit a woman to lead or usurp a man’s position of power; I only permit her to remain silent. Adam was created first, and then Eve. Adam was not fooled; rather, the woman who was tricked was the one who committed the sin.”

God desires us to learn how to submit to His might and power. The secret to getting through all the difficulties we encounter is to freely and unreservedly give ourselves to Him, then thank Him for guiding us to victory like how Deborah led the masses in a hymn of thanksgiving for their triumph.

Ways To Be A God-Fearing Woman

1. A God-Fearing Woman Prioritizes God Above All

We must learn to put God first in order to become a woman who fears Him. Not our partner, our friends, our parents, our mother, or even our own knowledge or viewpoint. As the Bible teaches in Matthew 6:33, “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

We must turn to the Divine first if we want to become a woman who fears the Lord. Because when we put our fear in Him first, we shall discover calm and peace of mind. As Philippians 4:6-8 tells us, “be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and then the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Christian women should start fearing God by trying to seek Him and His knowledge first, putting an end to our constant anxiety, and trading it for His true peace. Because every God-fearing women pursue the Lord first.

2. A God-Fearing Woman Spreads The Love Of God

We must live in God’s love in order to be a true woman who fears the Lord. If you’re a Christian, you likely were taught that the Almighty God loves you as your first lesson. In line with that, John 3:16 states that God loved us so deeply “that He sent His very own Son to die on the cross for us,” a passage that is frequently read in Bible class.

Studying His word will cause His love to literally jump off the papers and into our hearts, allowing us to completely engulf ourselves in it. Understanding His word makes it active and alive in our hearts and life (Hebrews 4:12).

By clinging to the love that God has for us, let us be true women who fear Him. To truly accept His love by acknowledging His feelings for us and His view of us as His lovely daughter. Be a God-fearing woman by demonstrating God’s absolute love in our day-to-day actions, not merely by knowing about it. Also, we must reciprocate this and love God constantly.

3. A God-Fearing Woman Protects Her Own Heart

We should guard our hearts if we want to be one of the women who fear God. Keep our hearts safe against everything that we let into our thinking, and our home. According to Proverbs 4:23, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” We must protect our hearts from our surroundings and the people we hang out with. Protect our minds by being careful with what we say aloud, and safeguard our hearts by telling the truth.

As our heart is the wellspring of our life, pray to the Lord to unveil anything that is polluting it, eliminate the black waste from it, and secure it with our life. We must safeguard our hearts above everything else, this will help us all to become God-fearing women today.

4. A God-Fearing Woman Does Not Live In Accordance With The World

We must understand how He accomplishes His goals in this world if we are to be women who fear God. To achieve this, we must transform into a woman who exists in this world yet does not live in accordance with it. Even if we live in this world, we must understand that we are not a part of it. Just what Romans 12:2 is trying to teach us, “Let’s not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”

This verse in the Bible exhorts us to fear the Lord and dedicate our lives to serving Him. This woman will lead a life as sacred or kept apart to glorify God because she fears Him. Instead of being influenced by the demands of this wicked world, her lifestyle should reveal her total commitment to His work in this world.

5. A God-Fearing Woman Recognizes God

In John 10:27, Jesus explained that He is the Righteous Shepherd and that it is crucial for His sheep to recognize His sound. He said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them…” To become a woman follower who fears the Lord, we must understand who God is. Through spending some time with God, worshiping, listening attentively, and studying His Word, we accomplish this.

We can learn from Abigail’s story in the Bible. Just as Abigail’s quick decision to meet David and avert disaster reflects her faith in God’s guidance, showcasing her as a model of proactive faithfulness in the Bible, we too should strive to be attuned to God’s voice in our lives.

Because He is constantly “close to those who call on Him,” according to Psalm 145:18. The Lord will demonstrate to us that He’s our protector, all-knowing, dependable, caring, merciful, and a lot more when we seek Him out in those quiet periods of solitude. By getting to know the Father first, we can become a woman who both loves and fears the Almighty.

Conclusion

As followers of Jesus, we are instructed that “the fear of the Divine is the first step towards wisdom,” (Proverbs 9:10) and that “to fear the Almighty, you should be filled with awe and reverence” (1 Kings 3:28), and “to also have respect ” with God (Leviticus 19:3). To put it simply, to have enlightenment and lead a life of truth begins with having the right attitude toward the Lord.

Solomon, on the other hand, speaks of the beauty of a wife of fine character when he discusses what it means to be a wife who fears God. “Charm is deceiving, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Creator, she shall be honored,” says Proverbs 31:30.
